1 Reservations Clerk Needed (Guest Assistance Specialist)

Work Location:  

Lava Hot Springs, Idaho:  Yes, that's right . . . the small (some would say “funky”) resort town with the speed slides, river tubing, hiking, biking, fishing, cross country skiing . . . etc.  Did we mention the world famous Hot Pools?  

 
What will I be doing?
 
Leaving an impression.  In this key role as a Guest Assistance Specialist (reservations clerk), you will be the first impression that our guests have of the Home Hotel.  Whether our guests meet you on the phone or in person at check-in, you get to make the first impression!  You will assist our guests by booking their rooms, answering their questions and finding little ways to let them know you noticed them.  
 
The hotel also needs help keeping the lobby and grounds *spiffy* and our housekeepers need
your help finishing the laundry when you are bored and wondering what a Guest Assistance
Specialist is to do when there are no guests for whom you can be special!
 
Basic Qualifications:
 
A friendly human being who enjoys working with people.
A friendly human being who enjoys working with computers.
A friendly human being who enjoys helping the hotel be *spiffy* and run well.
 
It would also be impressive if you have any of the following:
 
Experience in a customer service environment
Experience with the ever annoying, but obligatory suite of MS Office software.
Scheduling Flexibility which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
 
Qualifications That Will Blow Our Hair Back:
 
Hotel industry experience
Multi-lingual (especially Spanish)
Marketing experience
Chess Grand Master
 
Shifts:
 
5 days a week, 8 hrs a shift, can be evenings.  Holidays will happen.  Weekends will happen, too.
 
Wage!
 
Qualified friendly human beings will earn at least $8.50 an hr.  Qualified friendly human beings
who have qualifications that blow our hair back will earn more!

Housekeeper Overview
Part Time Positions  3 positions for 5 days a week  25-30 hrs a week (summer 35hrs)
Hours  1 position for 3  days a week 15-20 hrs a week (summer 25hrs)

Wage with experience $8.25 to $9  Must have weekend and holiday availability

Brief Job Description:

Housekeepers work alone, averaging 30 minutes per room (some rooms are smaller requiring less time, some are larger requiring a little more).  Housekeepers provide frequent status reports to the reservation desk.

1      Cleaning Rooms

2      Maid Services

3      Laundry

4      Stocking Laundry Van and Laundry Room shelves

5      Keeping Laundry Room Clean and Organized

6      Special Cleaning Projects As Needed

Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays and holidays.

Required Skills:  This position requires someone who is detail oriented, a diligent independent worker, who communicates effectively with other customers, staff and employers. Experience in housekeeping is needed.  But most of all, we need someone who is friendly!
